We are living in an ever-changing and dangerous world, and it is more crucial than ever to make sure that our laws are keeping up with the challenges we face.
The U.S. must take any opportunity to identify bad actors, including terrorists, outside the country. Through the Counterterrorism Information Sharing Act, individuals associated with a terrorist organization will have their biographic and biometric data made accessible to the Department of Homeland Security.
To improve school safety, our members passed the Stop School Violence Act, and included resources in this year’s government funding bill to help identify threats and prevent violence on school grounds.
Our Members also passed FAA Reauthorization to ensure long-term investment and stability in aviation infrastructure. It also addresses issues to help maintain the safety of our systems.
Legislation passed also includes the bipartisan Disaster Recovery Reform Act, which will help communities better prepare for, respond to, recover from, and mitigate against disasters of all kinds.
